Vice Ganda Calls Out Miss Universe 2024: ‘Ang Panget ng Presentation!’
VICE GANDA – Phenomenal Star Vice Ganda didn’t hold back as he slammed the Miss Universe 2024 pageant, calling its presentation “panget” in a fiery social media post.
Filipino host-comedian Vice Ganda did not hold back in sharing his disappointment over the Miss Universe 2024 presentation. On Monday, November 17, he took to X (formerly Twitter) to express his dismay about the production quality of this year’s pageant.
“Lasing at puyat lang ba ko o talagang ang panget ng presentation nitong #MissUniverse2024???” Vice tweeted, sparking a flurry of reactions online.
Vice Ganda’s comment reflected the sentiments of many netizens, who also voiced concerns about the pageant’s overall format and execution. Critics described the 73rd Miss Universe’s production as lackluster, with some calling for significant improvements in future editions.
The coronation night, held on Saturday, November 16, in Mexico (Sunday morning in the Philippines), saw Denmark’s Victoria Kjær Theilvig crowned Miss Universe 2024. She succeeded Nicaragua’s Sheynnis Palacios, making history as the first-ever Danish winner of the prestigious title.
While Theilvig’s victory brought pride to Denmark, the Philippines faced disappointment as its representative, Chelsea Manalo, fell short of making it to the Top 12. Manalo, who had been vying for the country’s fifth Miss Universe crown, nonetheless earned praise for her efforts and poise throughout the competition.
Following the event, the hosts of “ASAP Natin ‘To Live” extended their gratitude to Manalo on air, commending her dedication and hard work in representing the Philippines on the global stage.
Despite the backlash over this year’s production, the Miss Universe pageant continued to spark discussions worldwide, both for its triumphs and challenges. Vice Ganda’s candid remarks have since fueled debates about the need for innovation and refinement in the annual spectacle, which remains one of the most highly anticipated events in global pageantry.
As fans continue to celebrate the milestones achieved by new titleholders like Victoria Kjær Theilvig, the spotlight remains on how Miss Universe will address the concerns of its loyal audience moving forward.
