Several Motorists and Individuals in Quezon City Receive Ticket During Oplan Galugad Operation
Several motorists and individuals were ticketed in Quezon City during a recent Oplan Galugad operation.
This program, led by the Quezon City Police District Station 10 and Task Force Disiplina, focuses on enforcing local ordinances and regulations to maintain public order and safety.
According to Police Lieutenant Lito Garcia, team leader of the operation, Oplan Galugad aims to address violations of city ordinances and national laws. He emphasized that unawareness of these laws does not exempt violators from penalties.

“Ginagalugad namin ‘yong mga violators ng mga ordinances at saka ‘yong mga batas natin… Hindi puwedeng sabihin na (dahil) hindi natin alam ‘yong ordinansa o batas, hindi tayo puwedeng tiketan,” Garcia said.
Among those ticketed were people caught smoking in public areas, as well as drivers who had illegally parked their vehicles or disregarded traffic rules.
Motorists who committed traffic or parking violations were issued an Ordinance Violation Receipt (OVR), while those found smoking or drinking in public spaces—or being shirtless in public—were issued an Environmental Violation Receipt (EVR).
Michael Mestiola, team leader of Task Force Disiplina, advised against public drinking, as it often leads to altercations, especially among intoxicated individuals. He reminded residents to avoid drinking on the streets to help keep the community safe.
“‘Yong mga nag-iinom, kailangan iwasan natin kasi minsan nagsasaksakan kasi mga lasing na. Paalala lang na iwasan nating mag-inom sa tabi ng kalsada,” Mestiola said.
Fines for these violations can reach up to P2,000, which must be paid within five days at Quezon City Hall. Failure to settle the fine within this period may result in criminal charges against the violators.
Through these regular sweeps, Quezon City authorities hope to promote public discipline and ensure a safe environment for all.
