Jake Paul defeated boxing legend Mike Tyson in a highly anticipated fight on Friday night (November 15, 2024 ) at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, before 72,300 fans. Despite a 30-year age gap, Paul controlled most of the eight-round match and won by unanimous decision.

The boxing match was originally supposed to happen in July but got pushed back when Tyson had some health issues, including a stomach ulcer, during a flight. Now, the fight is on for eight rounds, each lasting two minutes, and they’ll both be wearing 14-ounce gloves, which are a bit heavier than what you’d usually see in heavyweight matches.

Tyson made history as the youngest ever heavyweight champion at just 20 years old, dominating the sport in the 1980s. But his career took a big hit when he lost to Buster Douglas in 1990.

After retiring in 2005, Tyson made a comeback for an exhibition match in 2020. On the other hand, Jake Paul, with a 10-1 record and 7 knockouts, has been building his boxing career, with his only loss coming against Tommy Fury in 2023.

The most-awaited fight was streamed live on Netflix starting at 8 p.m. ET, and before Tyson and Paul take the stage, the undercard features a rematch between Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano for the undisputed junior welterweight title.
