Former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte Annoyed by Ex-Senators Leila de Lima, Antonio Trillanes
RODRIGO DUTERTE – The former President was caught gesturing as if he’s about to hit former senators Leila de Lima and Antonio Trillanes IV.
The recent hearing conducted by the House Quad Committee over the war on drugs gathered former Pres. Duterte and former senators De Lima and Trillanes who have exchanged heated statements in the past.
Former Sen. Leila de Lima is a staunch critic of the Duterte drug war. She was vocal that the drug charges against her which kept her in detention for 7 years were allegedly fabricated to pin her down for speaking up against the former President.
At the House Quad Comm hearing, former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte and former Sen. Leila de Lima were seated beside each other. It was the first time that the two (2) politicians were brought that close physically as they were seated one seat apart during the Senate hearing on the war on drugs.
Former Senator Antonio Trillanes IV was also invited by the House Quad Committee. At the hearing, he lodged questions regarding the bank transactions of former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte. He dared the former Chief Executive to sign a bank waiver for the check of his account.
Former Pres. Duterte was seemingly irritated by the remarks of former Sen. Antonio Trillanes IV at the House hearing. He was not able to resist from making gestures that aim to hit the former Senator with a microphone. Some people tried to calm the former President.
At the hearing, former Pres. Duterte was seemingly annoyed by former Sen. De Lima as well. He was caught on camera making an action seemingly aiming to hit at the former Senator while she was not looking.
De Lima stressed that Duterte was allegedly telling a lie when he said that he does not know her. The former Senator stressed that they even crossed paths during his first State of the Nation Address (SONA) and he even shook hands with her. For his part, the former President claimed that her hairdo and her hair color are different now.
The gestures of former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte at the House Quad Comm hearing gained different reactions from the public who watched the inquiry. At the hearing, Duterte also unexpectedly asked the ICC to hurry up the investigation.
