During the interview, host Boy Abunda asked Aiai about the status of her and Gerald’s immigration situation in the U.S. in light of their separation. Aiai explained that she had previously petitioned Gerald as her husband for a green card, a petition that had been approved. She clarified that Gerald was simply waiting for his green card to be processed.

“Ako, Ama, green card holder ako, and then pinetition ko siya (Gerald) as husband,so approved na ‘yun, naghihintay na lang siya ng green card niya,” she said.

“Siyempre, ‘pag initial, buwisit ka, kung ano-ano ang nasasabi mo. Pero hindi ko naman gagawin ‘yun. Siyempre,husband ko pa rin siya and parang help ko na ‘yun sa kaniya para magkaroon siya ng legal status sa America,” Aiai said, emphasizing that her support for Gerald’s legal status was still intact despite their personal issues.
