39th STAR AWARDS FOR MOVIES – Nadine Lustre’s “Deleter” was included and the actress herself was nominated as the “Movie Actress Of The Year”.
The Philippine Movie Press Club (PMPC) has just recently dropped the list of movies, artists, and directors nominated in the 39th Star Awards for Movies. This is to honor and recognize the Philippine movie industry in 2022, the time when the country has started to recover from the effects of the pandemic.
As much as we all know, COVID-19 was a global pandemic that affected everyone and everything and this lasted for several years.
The award-giving body released the full list of nominees and a special awards presentation will be held this coming November 24.
Among the nominated movies in the category Movie Of The Year are “Deleter“, “Family Matters”, “Mamasapano”, “May-December-January”, “My Father, Myself”, “My Teacher”, and “Nanahimik Ang Gabi”. The other categories are Indie Movie Of The Year, Indie Movie Director Of The Year, Movie Actor Of The Year, Movie Actress Of The Year, Movie Supporting Actor Of The Year, Movie Supporting Actress Of The Year, New Movie Actor Of The Year, New Movie Actress Of The Year, and many more.
For the Movie Actress Of The Year, Andrea Del Rosario for “May-December-January”, Max Eigenmann for “12 Weeks”, Janine Gutierrez for “Bakit Hindi Mo Sabihin”, Liza Lorena for “Family Matters”, Nadine Lustre for “Deleter”, Therese Malvar for “Broken Blooms”, and Heaven Peralejo for “Nanahimik Ang Gabi” were the nominated actresses.
On the other hand, Roderick Paulate is the NORA AUNOR ULIRANG ARTISTA Lifetime Achievement Award awardee while Robbie Tan is ULIRANG ALAGAD NG PELIKULA SA LIKOD NG KAMERA Lifetime Achievement Award awardee.
To recall, it was last July when the 40th PMPC Star Awards for Movies was held.
