PAGASA UPDATE – Based on the latest weather bulletin, a tropical depression outside PAR is now a tropical storm.
Three cyclones will fill up the Philippines this week which adds to the agony left by Tropical Storm Kristine and Super Typhoon Leon. The north of Luzon was mostly battered as these typhoons brought floods and landslides, ruined houses, damaged properties, and claimed lives.
According to the state weather bureau Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), Typhoon ‘Nika’ is the first striking northern Philippines on Monday. Thousands were forced to leave their homes as people braced for another destructive typhoon.
Nika is expected to exit Monday night or Tuesday early morning, however, a tropical depression is coming, and once it enters the Philippine Area of Responsibility, it will be called Ofel.

The tropical storm is expected to enter the PAR on November 12 as “Ofel” and will move west northwestward and landfall in Northern or Central Luzon on Thursday afternoon or evening, November 14.
This will steadily strengthen in the next three days and by Wednesday, it will develop into a typhoon.
As for Nika, it weakens as it moves to exit PAR but Signal No. 2 is still raised in Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, and Abra, and Signal No. 1 in La Union, the northwestern portion of Pangasinan (Bolinao, Bani, City of Alaminos, Agno, Sual, Anda), Apayao, Kalinga, Mountain Province, Ifugao, Benguet, Cagayan including Babuyan Islands, and the northwestern portion of Isabela (San Pablo, Santa Maria, Cabagan, Santo Tomas, Quezon, Delfin Albano, Mallig, Roxas, San Manuel, Aurora, Quirino, Burgos, Tumauini, Gamu, San Mateo, Luna, Reina Mercedes, Cabatuan, Ilagan City)
