This year, Bea Alonzo was Lyle Menendez.
Dressing this year as Lyle Menendez was Bea Alonzo but deleted it after her costume received backlash online.
The Halloween season is not just about remembering our departed loved ones, it is also a season that allows us an opportunity to freely express our creativity in a spooky way. These creations with playful, scary themes are fun and add life to the celebration, however, some concepts just seem to not fit in and would likely receive public backlash if you’re a public figure.
Pinoy celebrities shared their Halloween costumes and one of them is Kapuso actress Bea Alonzo, but just recently, her Lyle Menendez costume left a bad impression on many people.
Lyle Menendez was convicted for killing his parents along with his brother and their duo was known as the “Menendez Brothers”. They killed their parents and were given a life sentence without the possibility of parole nearly 30 years ago.
There have been a lot of documentaries made about them and the actress drew flak for dressing up as Lyle prompting her to delete her social media posts.
The deleted post had the caption “Call me Lyle” and the hashtag #Halloween2024. She took down the post but there are still people calling her out as they did not like how her post, considering her wide reach, seemed to be promoting the controversial personality. In some of the snaps, Alonzo was even holding a shotgun. As much as we all know, the brothers bought a shotgun and ended their parents’ lives.
Many people online believed that the likes of Menendez Brother and Jeffrey Lionel Dahmer should never be promoted and never be used just for fun.
As of this writing, the post has been taken down and the actress remained mum about the matter.
