Iya Villania Confesses Her Fifth Pregnancy is Tough
IYA VILLANIA – Chika Minute host at entertainment reporter Iya Villania opened up about struggles of her fifth pregnancy.
Having their fifth baby is a huge blessing for Iya Villania and Drew Arellano, but Iya admits that her pregnancy hasn’t been easy. Iya acknowledges that this pregnancy has been more challenging than her previous ones.
“I think it’s inevitable kasi nga mas matanda na rin naman ako. I was 31 when I when I started with Primo, and I’m 38 now,” Iya shared on the latest episode of the Updated with Nelson Canlas podcast.
Now that she’s 38, Iya Villania admits that certain fears have started to creep in regarding her physical health, despite her regular exercise and fitness level.
“There were fears that creep into my head na like your body might take things differently, if it’s gonna be harder, it might be well I am already at high risk because I am past 35 and once you’re past 35, high-risk ka na,” Iya explained.
The host’s first trimester was particularly difficult, with worsening pregnancy symptoms like nausea and vomiting.
“Or hindi ko maisip kung ano ang gusto kong kainin tapos ‘yung gusto ko pang kainin ‘yung hindi ko dapat kinakain kasi raw which is sushi or sashimi,” Iya said.
Iya continued, “The first trimester was probably the hardest with this one.”

For now, Iya is focused on the upcoming birth and hopes for a smooth delivery with no complications for her and the baby.
“I hope that because along with the delivery, the kind of delivery can also dictate the kind of recovery that you’re gonna have. So parang Nand’un pa lang ‘yung isip ko because until I get past that, hindi ko rin masasabi kung what’s it’s gonna be like having the fifth baby,” Iya expressed.
She added, “So right now, my mind is just open to these are all the possibilities. Yes, it scares me, but always just praying for the best and praying for God’s favor, and of course, I’m hoping that all will go well. I hope that I will be safe, baby will be safe.”
