For some, Celeste Cortesi’s reaction seemed to suggest surprise or disbelief over Manalo’s win. Netizens speculated that she might have favored Christi McGarry, the representative from Taguig, as her preferred winner. Supporters pointed to a previous tweet by Cortesi, in which she complimented McGarry, describing her as “beautiful” and praising her answer in the question-and-answer portion as “perfect.”
This only fueled further assumptions that Cortesi might have found McGarry more deserving of the title.
