NGO of Former Vice President Leni Robredo and Kaya Natin received huge donation.
Angat Buhay of former Vice President Leni Robredo and Kaya Natin Movement gathered over Php 12 million for the victims of Kristine PH.
“‘Yung number one ingredient din ng leadership, aside from character, is you show up in the most difficult times. ‘Pag hindi ka mag-show up in the most difficult times, hindi ka lider.”
The Bicol region was one of the hardest-hit regions in the Philippines during the onslaught of Kristine PH. Thousands of lives were affected and several lives were claimed, and amid the struggles caused by the typhoon, Angat Buhay of former Vice President Leni Robredo and Kaya Natin! Movement for Good Governance and Ethical Leadership initiated a donation drive for the victims of the storm
She is indeed living up the line she is famous for and she showed up for Naga. In a previous article, Robredo asked for more pump boats to save many people in Naga who were trapped in their homes because of the flood.
In her posts, she is thankful to those who helped them through the donation drive for victims. After 24 hours, they were able to gather Php 7.3 million. The former vice president is humbled and grateful by this.
In an update as of 7 PM of October 24, the cash donation received is now at Php 12,438,878.55.
This was made possible when Robredo’s Angat Buhay non-government organization partnered with the Kaya Natin! for the donation drive. Angat Buhay is accepting in-kind donations while Kaya Natin! is the one accepting the cash donations.
Apart from these efforts, Robredo was also spotted braving the waist-deep floodwater to deliver relief goods to the people. The photos captured in Zone 6, Sto. Niño, Abella, Naga City went viral.
