Parokya ni Edgar Shares “Stranded kami sa Sorsogon”

Parokya ni Edgar had to stay in Sorsogon

Parokya ni Edgar band members were stranded in Sorsogon and this was because of the strong typhoon Kristine.

These past few days, many areas in the Philippines suffered from heavy rain brought by the current tropical storm. Based on the most recent weather update from Inquirer, Metro Manila and 42 other areas are now under Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal (TCWS) No. 1.

Several areas in the Bicol region are already flooded. In a report, the Bicol Regional Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (RDRRMC) issued an appeal to the public because apparently, they could no longer handle the rescue operation.

Parokya ni Edgar happened to have a scheduled show in Sorsogon on October 21 and this was for Kasanggayahan Festival. On October 22, the band shared an update on its official Facebook page.

Stranded kami sa Sorsogon. Di kami makauwi. Canceled lahat ng flights. Delikado din daw mag-roadtrip. So naligo na lang kami sa ulan,” the post stated. This included photos of the band members enjoying their moment under the rain.

As of 11:35 p.m. of Tuesday, east portion of Sorsogon (Barcelona, Gubat, Prieto Diaz) has been under Tropical Storm Wind Signal No. 2 while the rest of Sorsogon is under Signal No. 1.

Aside from PNE, the festival event last Monday also featured rappers Flow G and Skusta Clee. Based on the report, it was announced by the province that other activities for the Kasanggayahan Festival were postponed.

Meanwhile, Parokya ni Edgar band vocalist Chito Miranda did a big decision last June. He decided to give up being a coach of The Voice Kids because he prioritized his gigs with his band. However, he stressed that he enjoyed being a coach and this brought a lot of positive things to him as an artist.
