Spokesperson of PNP Speaks on House QuadComm Invitation for Duterte
PNP – The Philippine National Police confirmed that former President Rodrigo Duterte has received the invitation for a House Quad Committee hearing into the drug war of his administration.
The investigation on the issues linked to the drug war of former President Rodrigo Roa Duterte is ongoing. The House Quad Committee, also popularly called House QuadComm, has launched its own probe on the Duterte drug war.
Senator Bato dela Rosa also expressed his intention to launch an investigation into the Duterte drug war. However, it received criticisms from many people and former Sen. Leila de Lima stressed that Dela Rosa is also one of the accused in the drug war.
Dela Rosa who served as the chief of the PNP during the term of former Pres. Duterte expressed his confidence that the former President will attend the Senate hearing on the drug war. According to him, the former Chief Executive is more comfortable in the Senate than in the House of Representatives.
Recently, the House QuadComm formally invited former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte into the hearing set for the investigation of the drug war during his administration. Based on a report on GMA News, the PNP confirmed that the former Chief Executive has received the invitation of the House committee.
According to PNP spokesperson Police Brigadier General Jean Fajardo, she has the picture that proves that the House QuadComm invitation to former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte has been received.
“Napa-receive na po ‘yung invitation po sa ating dating pangulo. I have this picture na napa-receive na po. Confirmed po yun,” Fajardo said in a press briefing.
According to the PNP Spokesperson, the committee of Surigao del Norte Representative Robert Ace Barbers really made sure that the invitation will be received by either the former President or his representative. Based on the report, a representative of the former Chief Executive received the invitation.
However, there are still no updates or confirmation as to whether or not former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte will be attending the House QuadComm hearing on his war on drugs’ investigation.
Previously, former presidential chief legal counsel Salvador Panelo said that former Pres. Duterte has allegedly expressed an intention to attend to the House QuadComm hearing if he receives an invitation.
Recently, Sen. Bong Go filed a resolution seeking for a Senate investigation on the Duterte drug war. He is a former aide of the former President.
