Pastor Apollo Quiboloy Fires Back at WPP over Senatorial Bid
APOLLO QUIBOLOY – The detained Pastor is included in the Commission on Election or Comelec’s partial list of valid candidates for senator in the 2025 Midterm Elections.
Pastor Quiboloy filed his candidacy for senator in the 2025 Midterm Elections amid his detention. He is facing several charges and is currently detained in the Custodial Facility of the Philippine National Police (PNP).
Quiboloy was in hiding for several months. Cases were files against the Kingdome of Jesus Christ (KOJC) Founder and Leader not only in the Philippines but as well as in the United States.
Previously, amid hiding, the Pastor’s camp unveiled his condition to surrender if President Bongbong Marcos will guarantee that he will not be turned over to the U.S. authorities.
In the search for Pastor Apollo Quiboloy, the PNP conducted intensified search operations inside the KOJC Compound in Davao City. There were drilling operations amid the belief of the authorities that the Pastor may be hiding in a bunker.
Early in September, Quiboloy was arrested by the PNP. According to the authorities, they gave an ultimatum against the Pastor. His legal counsel, Attorney Israelito Torreon, tagged the “surrender” of the Pastor as an ultimate sacrifice for their church and the members.
According to Atty. Torreon who earlier expressed his belief that the Pastor is no longer inside the KOJC compound, Quiboloy could no longer afford to see what is happening to the KOJC compound and the members continue.
Pastor Apollo Quiboloy is currently detained in the PNP Custodial Facility. He filed his Certificate of Candidacy (CoC) for senator through his lawyer. His senatorial bid gained different reactions from the people.
Recently, the Commission on Elections (Comelec) released the partial list of valid senatorial candidates in the upcoming 2025 Midterm Elections. Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, Pastor Apollo Quiboloy is one of those aspirants for senator who is assessed valid by the election body.
Amid the list released by the Comelec, Workers’ and Peasants’ Party’s Sonny Matula called for the disqualification of Pastor Quiboloy. He claimed that the WPP does not endorse the Pastor’s senatorial bid.
