JK Labajo Concert: It Took Three Years To Convince The Singer

JK Labajo will finally have his solo concert

It took three years before singer-songwriter JK Labajo was convinced to hold his first solo concert.

JK or Juan Karlos rose to fame after he joined the first season of The Voice Kids in 2014. Although he was just third runner-up, he was given a lot of opportunities for his singing career and later on, in his acting career.

He has showcased his songwriting talent as well, especially when his song Ere went viral. It received millions of streams on music streaming platforms in just a short period of time.

After a decade in the entertainment industry, JK Labajo will hold his first major solo concert. This will be held on November 29 at the SM Mall Of Asia Arena.

The concert titled Juan Karlos Live, based on the article in Pang-Masa, is produced by Nathan Studios, which is owned by seasoned actress Sylvia Sanchez and her family.

JK said during the media conference for his concert that this is a dream come true and a testament that there is room for everyone in the entertainment industry.

The singer-songwriter shared that he has been aspiring for this to happen and he is thankful that Nathan Studios helped him realize this dream. Sylvia revealed that it took them three years to convince JK to finally have his first major concert because the singer felt that he was not yet ready.

JK admitted this and said that one will never be ready for something, no matter how much preparations were made. “Being ready was like one thing that you can be like, ‘ah, ready na ‘ko.’ Alam mo ‘yun? Kahit pilitin mo pa, never kang magiging ready,” he said.

However, it really made a mark on him when Sylvia said that this concert would be not just for himself but also for his fans who wanted to watch him. “It really made me think na parang ‘oo nga, ‘no? Hindi ko naisip ‘yung perspective na ‘yun,’” the singer-songwriter said.

JK Labajo also shared that the production team behind his concert is really working hard to polish every detail to provide a great show for his audience.

In the same interview, JK was also asked about the past issue he had with Darren Espanto.
