NAIA Terminal 4 To Close For Renovations Starting November 4
NAIA – The Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) is set to close for renovations starting November 4.
The NAIA Terminal 4, the oldest terminal in the airport complex, will be temporarily closed for renovations starting November 4, 2024, and will remain closed until February 2025. This temporary closure aims to modernize and upgrade the terminal, focusing on safety improvements, enhancing traffic flow, and making the facilities more efficient and comfortable for passengers.
In a statement, New NAIA Infra Corp., the group overseeing the airport’s infrastructure, emphasized the importance of the renovation. “Our goal is to make Terminal 4 more comfortable and efficient for travelers. While there may be some temporary disruptions, we appreciate the public’s understanding and patience as we work to deliver these much-needed improvements,” the company stated.

As Terminal 4 undergoes rehabilitation, flights that currently operate from this terminal will be transferred to Terminal 2. This includes CebGo, which operates 36 daily flights, AirSwift with 12 daily flights, and Sunlight Air with 2 daily flights. The transition will affect passengers flying with these airlines, who will need to proceed to Terminal 2 for their departures and arrivals during the renovation period.
Terminal 4, which serves around 2,900 passengers each day—1,400 arrivals and 1,500 departures—accounts for approximately 2.23 percent of NAIA’s total daily passenger volume. According to the report, the renovation is expected to make the terminal more in line with modern standards, alleviating congestion and enhancing passenger experiences once it reopens.

While passengers may experience some inconveniences during this period, the long-term benefits are expected to include improved safety measures, more efficient operations, and upgraded facilities that will cater better to the increasing number of travelers passing through NAIA. The authorities are urging the public to remain patient and cooperate with the changes during the renovation process.
The completion of Terminal 4’s renovations is projected to contribute to the overall modernization of NAIA, boosting its ability to handle more passengers and improving the airport’s image as a gateway to the Philippines.
