Herlene Budol talked about her new series and new leading men
Kapuso actress Herlene Budol said that if ever she would have a new boyfriend, she would prefer an AFAM.
AFAM is the term for “A Foreigner Assigned to Manila”. Generally, the term is used to refer to foreigners staying in the Philippines. There had been a lot of Filipinas who were married to foreigners even before this term came to life.
In 2023, Herlene shared that it was her ex-boyfriend who decided to break up with her. They were together for five years. The Kapuso star said that it was because of “selos” and that her ex-boyfriend was insecure.
Herlene Budol continued her career in showbiz, as well as, in the world of pageants. She is set to have her second lead role in a series. Previously, she did the Magandang Dilag and she was linked to her former leading man Rob Gomez.
Her follow-up project is Binibining Marikit and her leading man will be Tony Labrusca. The actress shared in a recent interview, based on the article in Bandera, that she feels blessed to have this new project.
Although she felt nervous and pressured, she also felt happy and excited. Herlene shared that she first learned about this project from her TiktoClock co-star comedienne Pokwang.
“Siya pa ho ang nagbalita sa akin na, ‘Anak, ready ka na ba?’ Sabi ko, ‘Bakit?’ ‘Bakla ka, ako ang nanay mo sa palabas mo.’ So ako, ‘Talaga? ‘Di nga?’ ganu’n ‘yung reaction ko,” the actress shared.
Herlene also said that she felt “kilig” that one of her leading men in this series was Tony Labrusca because she finds him really handsome in person. Her other leading man is a foreigner.
She teased that this is what the viewers would look forward to if who would be her final partner in the series. When asked what she prefers to be her boyfriend between Pinoy or foreigner, Herlene Budol answered, “Kasi minsan na ‘kong nasaktan ng Pilipino, ba’t ‘di natin subukan ang AFAM? Ha-hahaha!”
