Lady Netizen Flexes Sister’s Success Story in Online Freelancing
A lady netizen proudly shared her sibling’s achievements through online freelancing, stating that her sister “was able to earn six digits.”
Recently, VA Phoebe, a Facebook user, shared the story of her younger sister, who was able to achieve so much through online freelancing, including earning six digits and finishing her studies. The post garnered various reactions from the online community.
Her sister, Decy, started her online freelancing career in 2020, while she was still in her first year of college. Having seen what her older sister did as a virtual assistant (VA), Decy already had an idea of how online freelancing worked.
Decy even helped her with tasks like customer support and admin work, receiving a monthly allowance of P2,500 in return.
When the pandemic hit, Decy found herself with more time and became interested in finding her own clients. With the guidance of her older sisters, she quickly transitioned into freelancing.
The VA’s first client came from Upwork, and she still works with that client today. Though she had some setbacks, such as a scam client from LinkedIn, she soon secured more clients and managed to earn six digits within just a year.
From washing dishes at home to helping pay the bills, Decy shifted from being financially dependent on their parents to contributing to the household and covering her own expenses for school and personal needs. She recently graduated and continues to work as a virtual assistant.
Beyond her freelancing career, Decy has been able to travel, save, and invest, all while living the work-from-home lifestyle.

“Meet my sister, our bunso, Decy. (Yes lahat kaming magkakapatid online freelancer). She started her online freelancing career in 2020. First year college siya nun. Unang client from Upwork- legit, client niya pa hanggang ngayon. 2nd client is from LinkedIn- scam, di siya binayaran. 3rd di ko na alam basta nagkaron agad siya ng multiple clients and was able to earn 6 digits in a span of one year. From taga hugas ng pinggan to taga bayad ng internet real quick. From kelangan tustusan nila mama at papa ang pag aaral niya to nagshashare na rin ng budget sa bahay & nagastos sa pag aaral at sarili niya. Kaka graduate lang last year and VA pa rin ngayon. Aside sa mga travels niya, alam niya rin magsave and invest. She’s living the WFH life. I’m proud. We’re proud. THANK YOU ONLINE FREELANCING!”
