Transman Jesi Corcuera Reveals Reasons Behind Choosing Pregnancy
JESI CORCUERA – Former “Pinoy Big Brother” housemate and trans man Jesi Corcuera revealed why he chose to get pregnant.
Many were shocked by the latest news about ‘StarStruck’ alumnus Jesi Corcuera. Aside from being a proud transman, Jesi is now excited to announce that he is expecting his first baby.
In an interview with Boy Abunda, Jesi clarified some details about his big decision—getting pregnant. It can be recalled that Jesi Cocuera gained recognition in 2006 through GMA’s reality-based talent search, ‘StarStruck.’ Jesi was part of the same batch as actors Paulo Avelino, Kris Bernal, and many others in ‘StarStruck.’
Jesi Corcuera is a proud member of the LGBTQIA+ community as a transman. On October 5, 2024, Jesi announced his pregnancy via an Instagram post.
In his conversation with Boy Abunda, Jesi shared that even before rekindling his relationship with his partner, Camille, he had already planned to have a baby.
He said, “Bago kami mag-together again, nauna na yung plano ko na magka-baby na… nagpupunta na ako sa hospital.”
“In the making talaga nito ni baby halos 3 years, ‘yun pa lang sa decision making sobrang hirap na po.”
Jesi Corcuera revealed that he conceived through artificial insemination. He said, “Hindi ko kayang gawin natural way. So, artificial insemination.”
During the interview, Jesi answered why he chose to get pregnant.
He explained, “Kasi pagtayo ko bilang tatay ng mga anak ni Camille ang daming realization Tito Boy, Bago mabuo ang isang bata mayroong mama at papa… Hindi nagma-mattter kung ano ang kasarian mo para maging isang magulang.”
Jesi also shared an emotional reason for wanting a child.
“May mga pagkakataon po kasi na di ko naiintindihan si Camille as a parent, may times nagseselos ako, isa ‘yun sa reason and ‘pag tumatanda ka na natatakot ka maging mag-isa.”
Jesi Corcuera revealed that he is expecting a baby girl.
When Boy Abunda asked how he plans to explain everything to his child when she is old enough, Jesi quickly responded.
He said, “Simple lang po siguro, maiintindihan niya na hindi man pareho ng iba na may mama at papa at least ako kaya ko na siya. Hindi ko kailangan mag-transform ng dalawang tao para mahalin siya.”
