Marjorie Barretto Shares a Message About Her Return to Politics
MARJORIE BARRETTO – Former actress Marjorie Barretto took to social media to share a message about her return to politics.
Marjorie Barretto is a Filipina actress and politician, born on May 19, 1974. She hails from the famous Barretto family, known for their involvement in the Philippine entertainment industry. She is the sister of actresses Gretchen Barretto and Claudine Barretto.
Marjorie entered the entertainment industry in the 1990s, becoming known for her roles in both television and film. She appeared in a variety of drama series and movies, often playing supporting roles. Her popularity grew thanks to her talent and the prominence of her family in showbiz.
In the late 2000s, Marjorie shifted her focus to politics. She became involved in local government, serving as a councilor and later as a city councilor of Caloocan. She also served as the representative of the 2nd district of Caloocan from 2007 to 2013. After her political career, she returned to private life but remained visible in the public eye, partly due to the Barretto family’s media presence.
Marjorie recently announced her decision to return to public service by filing her Certificate of Candidacy (COC) for the upcoming elections. In a heartfelt message shared on her Instagram account, @marjbarretto, she expressed her thoughts on the matter.

Marjorie admitted that the decision to reenter the political arena wasn’t easy. She described the experience as both challenging and terrifying, considering the responsibilities and expectations that come with the role.
However, despite the challenges, she has also gained a renewed sense of purpose with her decision. Returning to public service has reignited her desire to contribute to her community, reflecting her dedication to making a positive impact.
