Sara Duterte Releases Statement for Educators on World Teachers’ Day

SARA DUTERTE – The Vice President released a statement for the educators on the celebration of the World Teachers’ Day.

One of the celebrations that is celebrated globally is the World Teachers’ Day. It is celebrated annually and countless events are being held worldwide in leiu of the the day meant to honor the educators. Several popular individuals also release statements.

In the Philippines, there are thousands of teachers who are spending their lives educating the learners in different levels — pre-school, elementary, secondary, and college. There are also teachers of vocational courses.

This year, on World Teachers’ Day celebration, Vice President Sara Duterte released a statement honoring the educators in their hard work and dedication to teaching the learners. The Vice President expressed gratitude on the sacrifices made by the teachers in shaping the minds of young Filipinos.

It was only a few months ago when Vice Pres. Sara Duterte resigned as the secretary of DepEd or the Department of Education. When she resigned, she also left the cabinet of President Bongbong Marcos.

Duterte admitted that her decision to leave the helm of the education department includes both personal and work reasons. Senator Sonny Angara was appointed as the new DepEd Secretary.

Although she is no longer the DepEd secretary, Vice Pres. Duterte has a heartfelt message for the educators on the World Teachers’ Day celebration. She recognized the teachers’ “tireless efforts in classrooms and communities” in demonstrating their commitment to build a stronger nation.

In her video message, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte also called on the teachers to make the theme “Together4Teachers”. She also requested the educators to continue in promoting a youthful nation.

“Let every Filipino child reach their full potential,” Duterte said.

Recently, the Department of Education or DepEd made an announcement of extending the vacation leave credits of the teachers.
