Police Authorities Arrest School Principal for Allegedly Abusing Four Grade 10 Students
The police authorities arrested a school principal in Cainta, Rizal for allegedly abusing four grade 10 students.
A 59-year-old school principal was arrested in a follow-up operation conducted by the police in Cainta, Rizal after being accused of molesting four Grade 10 students. The alleged incident took place inside the principal’s office at a school in Quezon City.
On a Saturday, the principal called some students to assist him in printing certificates although they had no class. One of the victims was asked to go to the kitchen, where the principal followed.
The principal allegedly made inappropriate comments about the student’s age and personal matters before beginning the molestation. The abuse stopped when a classmate knocked on the door, interrupting the situation.
“Doon po niya tinatanong kung ilang taon na raw po ako kung nagamit ko na raw yung pagkalalaki ko. Tapos hinawak hawakan na po niya doon na po niya sinimulan panghahalay sa akin. Hanggang sa natigil lamang po ito nung kumatok yung isa sa aking kaibigan, binuksan yung pintuan po,” the victim said.
Three other students were also reportedly victimized. According to police, the four male victims, aged 15 to 17, came forward to report the abuse. One of the students managed to escape, push the principal away, and immediately told his parents about the incident.
“Pinatawag sila ng kanilang principal na may ipapagawa sa kanila. Yung isa nga inutusan magluto yung iba naman naglilinis. Yung isa doon ang unang nabiktima doon 17 years old nga ginawan ng isang kahalayan nasundan pa nung tatlo pa. Yung huling menor de edad na victim natin tumakbo at naitulak itong suspek at diretso nagsumbong sa kanyang mga magulang,” said Project 6 Police station commander Police Lt. Col. Macario Loteyro.
The police arrested the principal, who is now being held at the Project 6 Police Station. He has been charged with lascivious conduct in relation to Republic Act 7610, which is the Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation, and Discrimination Act.
The suspect refused to give a statement regarding the allegations.
The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) is investigating if there are additional victims involved. The Department of Education (DepEd) has also been informed of the incident.
Education Secretary Sonny Angara has ordered an investigation while waiting for an official report from its Quezon City office before providing further updates. The department is closely monitoring the situation to ensure justice for the victims.
