Office of Vice Pres. Sara Duterte Issues Statement
SARA DUTERTE – The Office of the Vice President (OVP) denied the rumors that she was on the beach during the House plenary deliberation.
Currently, the Senate and the House of Representatives are holding hearings for the scrutiny of the budget proposals of the different offices and departments under the government. However, amid the proceedings, the OVP budget proposal hooked the spotlight.
The Department of Budget and Management previously revealed that the Office of the Vice President is seeking a P2 billion budget for 2025. According to the DBM, the budget proposal does not include confidential funds.
However, while the budget proposal no longer includes CIFs which the OVP budget was previously controversial for, Vice President Sara Duterte was involved in a spar with the members of the Senate and the House of Representatives during budget deliberations.
Vice Pres. Sara Duterte and Senator Risa Hontiveros had a spar after the latter move for the re-allocation of some of the proposed budget of the OVP and asked about the P10 million budget allotted for the distribution of Duterte’s book.
During the House of Representatives deliberation of the 2025 budget proposal of the OVP, Duterte also had heated arguments with some House members. The deliberation was moved but Duterte was no show at the resumption of the deliberation.
Recently, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte was also absent at the House plenary deliberation. However, amid her absence, there are rumors and speculations that the Vice President was on the beach during her absence at the House plenary deliberation.
The Office of the Vice President was quick to deny the rumors and speculations that Vice Pres. Sara Duterte chose to be on the beach rather than to attend the House plenary deliberation. The OVP issued a statement.
In its statement, the OVP said that Vice Pres. Duterte was on the road to talk to Filipinos. According to her office, she made stops in Vinzons and Daet in Camarines Norte and Legazpi, Albay. Here’s the post of Duterte’s office:
The Vice President received countless criticisms because of the multi-million budget allotted for the distribution of her book. Amid the negative reactions of many people, Vice Pres. Duterte said that she will write another book.
