16-Year-Old Boy Allegedly Stabbed by Fellow Minor During Street Brawl in Navotas
A 16-year-old boy was injured after being stabbed by another minor during an altercation in Barangay NBBS Dagat-dagatan, Navotas.
On Tuesday evening (September 24, 2024), a young man suffered a stab wound during a street brawl between groups of teenagers that escalated into a stabbing.
According to an initial police investigation, the victim was immediately rushed to the hospital with injuries to his arm and side. Police reported that the fight initially involved fists but quickly turned violent when one of the boys pulled out a knife.
A witness mentioned that the group of the victim sought out the suspect to confront him due to a previous conflict between them. The witness, who was nearby, said he noticed his friends hurrying by and followed them, eventually leading to the confrontation.
Barangay official Monie Flores shared that the suspect claimed he acted in self-defense. The suspect explained that he was about to be hit with a piece of wood by his opponents, so he stabbed them to protect himself.
The minor admitted to stabbing the victim but insisted it was in defense. The commotion took place near a wake, and the group was driven away by the family of the deceased. However, the stabbing happened a few meters away after they were separated.

Tension escalated at the Navotas Police Station when the victim’s relatives confronted the family of the man who tried to break up the fight. The victim’s family blamed the intervener for holding the boy, which they claimed allowed the stabbing to happen.
“Ang concern lang po namin. Binabalikan po nila kasi iyong nag-awat. Bakit po? Para saan po? Nag-awat lang naman kasi may patay po kami…Ang ending po — siya pa iyong napasama kasi inawat niya lang po,” Flores said.
The police are continuing their investigation, and the suspect is currently in their custody. He is expected to be transferred to the Bahay Pag-Asa, a rehabilitation center for minors in Navotas. Authorities are preparing to file appropriate charges against the suspect.
