Former Mayor Alice Guo Claims She Planned To Go Back to PH
ALICE GUO – The former Mayor claimed that she was planning to go back to the Philippines already prior to her arrest in Indonesia.
The arrest of former Mayor Alice Guo in Indonesia sparked headlines in the Philippines just as her unexpected departure. She was able to leave the country despite several complaints filed against her, her name being on the immigration lookout bulletin, and the issues she’s involved in gaining national attention.
Guo is not only accused of involvement in the illegal Philippine Offshore Gaming operations but her identity is also questioned. Her fingerprints matched the fingerprints of Guo Hua Ping, a Chinese national who entered the Philippines in 2003.
However, until now, the former Mayor consistently does not confirm that she is Guo Hua Ping despite the lawmakers addressing to her as the Chinese national. The senators are also eager to investigate and find out who could have helped her escape the Philippines.
An intel report claimed that a former chief of the Philippine National Police has helped Guo escape from the country. To this, Senator Bato dela Rosa cleared out his name on the possible speculations that he was the one who helped Alice Guo.
Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, during the Senate hearing, Sen. Bato dela Rosa asked Alice Guo where she plans to go next if she was not arrested by the authorities. Surprisingly, the former Mayor claimed that they were really talking that she will go back to the Philippines.
“Actually, nag-uusap po kami na uuwi na ko sa Pilipinas, haharapin ko po at magpapaliwanag po ako,” the former Mayor said.
Based on the report, at the Senate hearing, Dela Rosa was not convinced by the statement of Guo. He accused the former Mayor of being guilty in the POGO allegations thus, she allegedly did not opt to go to China where she may be punished.
Guo asserted that she is not involved in the illegal Philippine Offshore Gaming operations in the country. Currently, she is under the custody of the PNP. The lawmakers has also called for the presence of Sual, Pampanga Mayor Dong Calugay to clarify his relationship with Alice Guo.
