Mariah Carey shared this post for her fans in the Philippines
International diva Mariah Carey greeted her Filipino lambs, her fandom in the Philippines, as the country celebrates the holiday season as early as September.
It has been a tradition in the Philippines to start celebrating the holidays by the start of the “Ber months.” When September 1 comes, homes and different establishments are already playing Christmas songs.
One of the most popular songs for the holidays is Mariah’s All I Want For Christmas Is You, not just among Pinoys but in other countries.
Last year, in her post on X, formerly Twitter, Mariah Carey acknowledged the fact that Filipinos are celebrating the holidays much earlier than other countries. She retweeted a post from a fan page highlighting the increase in number of streams of her most popular Christmas song by the start of September.
The multi-awarded singer said that it was not yet Christmas but she will allow this for her Filipino fans. On her post on September 7, Mariah greeted the Philippines.
“Philippines, it’s time (only for you!! [winking face emoji]) I hope you’re all safe and well. Let’s celebrate together [musical note emoji, Christmas tree emoji,” she wrote in her Facebook post on Saturday.
Filipino lambs are happy about this. They love the fact that the well-known singer remembers that Philippines has long Christmas celebration. “Not the first time she mentioned about our long Christmas season. Ntl, it feels good she continue to remember it. Thanks Queen Maryah!” a fan commented.
In the Philippines, one personality who is always being remembered during the holiday season is singer-songwriter Jose Mari Chan. Because of his popular Christmas songs, he became an icon of this season. Last year, Time Magazine recognized JMC as the Pinoy contemporary of Mariah Carey when it comes to Christmas songs.
