“No swap happened. No swap,” stressed the president. This is accordingly not official so no swap has happened. However, he highlighted that the retrieval is far from being simple – it was very intricate, very sensitive, and very delicate details.

The negotiation was not easy but thanks to his close relationship with Indonesian President Joko Widodo, Guo’s return has been made possible.

To recall, amid the investigations about Guo’s real background, believed to be the Chinese national Guo Hua Ping, and her alleged link to with illegal Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGO) in her town, she escaped without going through the immigration. She flee with her supposed sibling Wesley Guo, along with Sheila Guo and her business associate Cassandra Li Ong in July.
