On Thursday night (September 5, 2024), the man who allegedly shot and killed his wife inside their vehicle in Barangay Tabuc-tubig, Dumaguete City due to issues involving a third party. The suspect is now in police custody.
The couple, both nurses, had an argument while driving in Barangay Tabuc-tubig, as per the Negros Oriental Police Provincial Office (NOPPO).
The altercation between the 36-year-old victim and her 39-year-old husband escalated, leading to the fatal shooting. The wife was shot in the neck, which resulted in her death. Following the incident, the husband reportedly kept the body in the vehicle throughout the night.
It wasn’t until the early hours of Friday morning that the lifeless body was discovered in the car by bystanders, who immediately reported it to the authorities. The police quickly arrested the suspect, who had taken refuge at a friend’s house after the crime.
At present, authorities are still searching for the firearm used in the incident. The suspect is now in police custody and is facing murder charges for the crime. The investigation is ongoing to uncover more details behind the incident.
