Senate Pres. Chiz Escudero Speaks on Alice Guo Arrest in Indonesia
ALICE GUO ARREST – Senate President Chiz Escudero congratulated the PH and the Indonesian law enforcement authorities on the arrest of the former Mayor.
For weeks, many Filipinos are monitoring the updates regarding former Bamban, Tarlac Mayor Alice Guo was able to leave the Philippines amid complaints and her name being on the immigration lookout bulletin. She is accused of involvement in the illegal Philippine Offshore Gaming operations in her town.
Furthermore, Guo is also questioned about her identity. Her fingerprints matched with the fingerprints of Chinese national Guo Hua Ping as per the National Bureau of Investigation.
Meanwhile, recently, reports that Alice Guo was arrested in Indonesia crossed the surface. The Indonesian authorities specifically nabbed Guo in Jakarta, Indonesia.
The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) and the Department of Justice (DOJ) has both confirmed the arrest of the former Bamban, Tarlac Mayor who is facing POGO involvement allegations. According to NBI, there are already ongoing talks about the turn over of Guo to the Philippine authorities.
Recently, Senate President Chiz Escudero gave a statement on the arrest of former Mayor Alice Guo. Based on a post of ABS-CBN News, the Senate Chief congratulated the Philippine and Indonesian law enforcement agencies over the arrest of the former Mayor.
“I hail the arrest of Alice Guo in Indonesia. She can now be brought to justice and, hopefully, also shed light on illegal pogo operations in the country.
I likewise thank and congratulate Philippine and Indonesian law enforcement authorities for successfully effecting her arrest.”
Previously, Senate Pres. Chiz Escudero has chided the Philippine National Police (PNP) for failing to locate and arrest Guo amid the pending arrest order against the former Mayor.
Shiela Guo who denied that Alice Guo is her sister and Cassandra Ong, an alleged representative of the illegal POGO hub in Porac, Pampanga, were detained by the Indonesian authorities and sent back to the Philippines.
According to Shiela Guo, together with Alice and Wesley, they left the Philippines through a “small boat”.
