“Sunshine” trailer is out now with Maris Racal on the lead.
The lead of the upcoming film “Sunshine” is actress Maris Racal and here’s her reaction after watching the trailer.
In one’s journey to reach that one ultimate dream, there will be bumps to encounter that will shake our beliefs and discipline. It may be hard but sticking to what you believe is rightful at that certain may make it but there’s no guarantee. Beliefs are subjective but how much can you sacrifice for it?
“Sunshine”, a movie written and directed by Antoinette Jadaone, stars Maris Racal, “a young gymnast [who] finds out she is pregnant on the week of the national team tryouts. On her way to a seller of illegal abortion drugs, she meets a mysterious girl who eerily thinks and talks like her.”
The trailer has been released already and on her Instagram account, a video of her all emotional while watching the trailer caught the attention of many people online. She expressed in the caption her disbelief because finally, after a year of work, the movie is already finished and is included in the 49th Toronto International Film Festival as the festival’s Centrepiece section.
This is along with 43 titles from countries like Algeria, Australia, Belgium, Canada, Chile, China, Colombia, France, Germany, Indonesia, Nigeria, Panama, Poland, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, and USA.
This movie also feels timely as this year, the Philippines was able to get a double gold medal in gymnastics through Carlos Yulo.
On her video, Racal was wiping her tears as a result of immense joy as she was finally seeing the fruit of her hard work. She also thanked the dedication of their director and was feeling great for lifting the profile of Philippine cinema.
“Nakakaproud na ang world premiere ng pelikulang ito ay sa TIFF 2024. Isang malaking karangalan ang magkaroon ng pagkakataong ibahagi ang pelikulang Pilipino sa buong mundo,” Racal said.
The 49th Toronto International Film Festival will be on September 5 to 15.
