Senate Panel Questions Shiela Guo over Relation to Alice Guo
SHIELA GUO – The supposed sister of Alice Guo admitted that she is not biologically related to the former Mayor and she’s born in China.
Undeniably, the surname “Guo” is one of the most controversial last names in the Philippines this year. The reported departure of dismissed Mayor Alice Guo from the Philippines amid multiple complaints filed against her disappointed countless Filipinos.
Alice Guo’s name is also in the immigration lookout bulletin. More than a week ago, Senator Risa Hontiveros divulged the departure of the dismissed Mayor. She allegedly went to Malaysia last July 17 and they arrived in Kuala Lumpur the following day.
Guo reportedly met with her family in Singapore and then moved to Indonesia. However, Alice Guo’s supposed sister, Shiela Guo, and Cassandra Li Ong were detained in Indonesia and sent back to the Philippines.
According to the Bureau of Immigration, Alice Guo is still in Indonesia. Senator Sherwin Gatchalian previously expressed his confidence that the dismissed Mayor who is facing accusations of her link to the illegal Philippine Offshore Gaming operations in the country will be brought back to the Philippines.
According to the Senator, he has talked with the ASEAN ambassadors and their securities were alerted already. The Philippine National Police (PNP) is also hoping for a positive development on the case and that Alice will be brought back to the Philippines like Shiela and Cassandra.
Cassandra Li Ong is detained in the House of Representatives while Shiela Guo is detained in the Senate. Recently, a hearing was conducted by the upper chamber and the panel questioned Shiela’s relation with Alice.
During the Senate hearing, Shiela Guo revealed that Alice Guo is not her biological sister. She also admitted that she was born in China and her mother is currently living there. According to her, she arrived in the Philippines when she was 16 or 17 to work in an embroidery business upon the mandate of her father.
She also claimed that Alice’s father, Jian Zhong Guo, is only her foster father in the Philippines. Previously, the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) said that she is actually a Chinese national named Zhang Mier based on her Chinese passport.
“Hindi ako dito pinanganak. Sa China ako pinanganak,” Shiela said.
Previously, Shiela Guo revealed that she, together with Alice and Wesley, fled from the Philippines through a “small boat”. She stressed that they traveled for several hours.
