Janine Gutierrez talked about being in a showbiz clan
Kapamilya actress Janine Gutierrez shared the showbiz advice she received from her mother seasoned actress Lotlot de Leon.
Janine is from a prominent showbiz clan and she joined the entertainment industry quite late compared to other members of their family. With her acting prowess, she has proven that she deserves her own spotlight.
However, just like many showbiz newbies when they were starting, Janine also had to go through what those starting out in the industry had to go through.
In a recent interview, based on the article in The Philippine Star, Janine Gutierrez shared that when she told her mom that she will enter showbiz, Lotlot de Leon did not hinder her.
Janine said that she started late and in her first teleserye, she was already 23 years old. She also appreciated that her mom was never a stage mother. Lotlot would just give her pieces of advice. The Kapamilya actress also said that her mom does not intervene when it comes to handling her finances but Lotlot served her first manager, so, she owes a lot to her mom.
Being a showbiz newbie brought some challenges to Janine. “It was also challenging because I was a newcomer. For instance, on a variety show, they asked me to dance, and I cried because I didn’t know how to dance. Of course, her advice as a mother was that I had to do it,” she shared.
Janine also said that she liked it when her mom would give her bits and pieces of her knowledge in the industry. The Kapamilya actress is also aware of the challenges that comes with working with family as there would be a thin borderline about being family members and work colleagues.
Janine Gutierrez also highlighted that whenever her mom would have intrigues, she never handled this publicly. She admitted that she was a bit scared in answering personal questions as she her parents’ separation became so public.
However, the actress said that she is lucky to have a good relationship with her parents, Lotlot de Leon and Christopher Gutierrez.
