Statement of Malacañang on the Courtesy Resignation Order of Marcos Jr. for Cabinet Secretaries
MALACAÑANG – The Palace spoke on the Cabinet secretaries following the order of Pres. Bongbong Marcos for a courtesy resignation.
Earlier today, Pres. Bongbong Marcos ordered a courtesy resignation among his Cabinet secretaries. The Chief Executive wants a recalibration of his administration after claiming that the people have spoken based on the outcome of the 2025 Elections.

Previously, Pres. Bongbong Marcos aired his realizations from the results of the 2025 Elections. The President cited two (2) things — the Filipino people are allegedly tired of politicking and are disappointed by the service provided by the government.
On his order for a courtesy resignation among the secretaries of Cabinet, Marcos Jr. stressed that the government has to act on what the people is calling for based on the results of the recent poll. Several Cabinet secretaries of the Marcos administration immediately tendered their courtesy resignation.

Department of Education chief Sonny Angara resigned from being the DepEd Secretary. He also expressed his trust on the decision of the President and thanked him for the opportunity to lead the education department.

Recently, Malacañang spoke on the decision of Pres. Bongbong Marcos to order a courtesy resignation among his Cabinet secretaries. Based on a report on GMA News, Palace press officer Atty. Claire Castro reiterated Marcos Jr.’s statement that the projects of the government won’t be affected by the recalibration in the admin.
“Maliwanag din po ang sinabi ng Pangulo, hindi po maaapektuhan kung anuman po ang pending at existing projects habang po ito ay may transition at tuloy-tuloy lamang po ang pagtratrabaho ng mga Cabinet secretaries at mga tao sa gobyerno,” Castro expressed.
Based on the report, the Malacañang Press Officer also said that it is time for the Cabinet secretaries to show their place in the administration of Pres. Bongbong Marcos. She stressed that lazy and corrupt secretaries have no place in Marcos admin.

“Mas maganda po ito na mapakita rin ng ating mga heads of agencies, Cabinet secretaries na sila ay naaayon sa goal ng Pangulo. Ipakita nila na sila ay dapat manatili bilang parte ng administrasyon ng ating Pangulo,” the Malacañang official said.
Recently, following his order to his Cabinet secretaries for a courtesy resignation, Pres. Bongbong Marcos joked in a speech.
