DOJ Speaks on Health Condition of Former Mayor Alice Guo’s Sister Shiela Guo
DOJ – The Department of Justice gave an update on the condition of Shiela Guo after she felt unwell upon their arrival in Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 1.
Dismissed Mayor Alice Guo exited the Philippines amid the multiple complaints filed against her. It was confirmed by several entities including the Bureau of Immigration (BI) which cited the intelligence information from its foreign counterparts.
Guo reportedly made the exit from the Philippines through Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. According to Senator Risa Hontiveros, the former Mayor flew to Singapore to meet with her family.
Several complaints were filed against Guo in the Philippines. The office of the Ombudsman recently ruled for the dismissal of Alice Guo as mayor of Bamban, Tarlac and the forfeiture of her retirement benefits.
Sen. Hontiveros and several authorities question who could have helped Guo escape from the country. The immigration bureau also said that she was able to exit the Philippines without passing by the immigration.
The Bureau of Immigration previous announced that Guo is in Indonesia. She reportedly left the country last July 17 for Kuala Lumpur, moved to Singapore, and flew to Indonesia with her arrival there last August 18.
However, recently, only the sister of former Mayor Guo, Shiela Guo, and Guo’s alleged co-hort in the illegal Philippine Offshore Gaming operations were detained in Indonesia. They were sent back to the Philippines and arrived in the country late Thursday afternoon.
However, based on a report on ABS-CBN News, Shiela Guo felt unwell during their arrival at Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 1. She was spotted on a wheelchair at the airport.
Meanwhile, based on the report, the Department of Justice recently gave an update saying that Shiela Guo is in a better condition now. According to DOJ spokesperson Mico Clavano, the medical results have not been finalized but both Guo and Ong are looking fine.
Clavano said that Guo feeling unwell is probably due to lack of oxygen and space as many people awaited their arrival. Based on the report, they were also surprised that there were so many individuals at the airport during their arrival.
“Kasi kanina dinumog sila probably from lack of oxygen and space. Nagulat na lang siguro sila marami ang naka-abang sa kanila. medyo sumama pakiramdam ni Shiela Guo,” the DOJ Spokesman said.
Based on the report, the sister of dismissed Mayor Alice Guo and Cassandra Li-Ong were brought to the Bureau of Immigration (BI) for the medical examination and inquest. After it, they will be under the custody of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI). Complaints were filed against Guo and Ong.
Ong will be facing an inquest for obstruction of justice and violation of the Passport Act while a case will be filed against Guo for violation of immigration laws.
