Japanese actress Maria Ozawa opens up about her relationship and breakup with Filipino chef Jose Sarasola.
Filipino actor and businessman Jose Sarasola admitted a couple of years ago that he and Japanese star Maria Ozawa ended their relationship. They have been together for almost five years.
In January 2022, Sarasola confirmed his separation from Ozawa. According to him, the distance between them was hard. There was no third party or other serious reasons, they were not just meant for a long-distance relationship. The miles between them was the reason why it did not work.
“To be honest, wala na kami. It’s been difficult, e, it’s been very hard. LDR is very hard. We never expect this to be difficult,” he said. They mutually agreed to separate and Sarasola said they have remained friends despite the breakup.
Finally speaking about this, Ozawa opened up about their relationship and split before in an interview with Boy Abunda in his Kapuso show called Fast Talk With Boy Abunda. According to her, during their time together, she learned a lot, especially about the culture of the Philippines.
She feels that this is also the same way with him on learning about Japanese culture. However, this was also the same thing that was hard for them as the cultures of two countries are like north pole and south pole – very different.
“It was just hard to blend in,” she added based on the video. She confirmed that the breakup was a mutual decision and that there was no third party. They talked about it and to add fuel to the fire, they never saw a future in their relationship.
The pandemic worsened their situation and they did not know what to do about it, hence, their decision to just end things between them.
