SARA DUTERTE – The Vice President claimed that the talks about her impeachment are openly discussed in the House of Representatives and she is not bothered by it.

Undeniably, within the term of most politicians who have sat as president or vice president, there were rumors of impeachment. In the case of Vice Pres. Duterte, it is allegedly happening now.

Duterte was surrounded several issues lately. She was bashed for leaving the Philippines amid the onslaught of Typhoon Carina. Countless Filipinos also question the huge number of Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and Philippine National Police (PNP) personnel assigned for her security.

Seventy-five (75) PNP cops assigned for Duterte was relieved but several known personalities unveiled that more than 400 AFP and PNP cops are part of her security detail. There are also questions about the real ties between her and President Bongbong Marcos after she left his cabinet.

Vice Pres. Sara Duterte previously spoke on her relationship with Pres. Bongbong Marcos now. More than a month ago, she resigned from being the secretary of the Department of Education (DepEd) and she admitted that her decision to leave the Marcos Cabinet includes both personal and work-related reasons.

Duterte is also being questioned about the P10 million that the OVP allocates for the distribution of the book she authors. She was also asked about her office’s assistance programs that were likened to those of the other government agencies.

Amid the issues, Duterte recently topped the list of potential presidential bets in 2028. However, based on a report on Inquirer, the Vice President expressed that she is not planning for it as 2028 is still several years from now.

Based on the report, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte also claimed that her impeachment is allegedly openly-discussed in the House of Representatives. According to the Vice President, the said info reached her as she still has friends who are silent inside the House because they are afraid to speak.

Duterte stressed that she is not bothered by the impeachment talks. She recalled that she did not really intend to run for the presidency or the vice presidency and it was out of unity and the continuity of her father’s legacy that she took the vice presidential bid.

Based on the report, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte expressed that what bothers her is that “they want to frustrate the choice of the people” for VP. She stressed that losing the position as Vice President is not a loss for her.

“So  kapag paalisin nila ako dito,  or i-impeach nila ako, hindi kawalan sa akin ang position na Vice President,” the Vice President said.

Previously, the Vice President said that it is her younger brother, Baste Duterte, who will run for president in 2028.
