Gerald Santos Strong Statement During Senate Hearing: “Na-rape po ako”

Gerald Santos opened up about what happened to him 19 years ago

Singer Gerald Santos made this strong statement during the Senate hearing on August 19 about what he went through when he was 15 years old.

Gerald caught the attention of the online community when he shared a post showing support for Sparkle artist Sandro Muhlach who filed a complaint against GMA independent contractors Jojo Nones and Richard Cruz who allegedly harassed him.

With that, the past bad experience that Gerald had was recalled. He shared that he was harassed when he was just a minor and he had no power to go against his abuser who has strong connections with GMA.

Gerald Santos previously revealed that he raised his concern to the management of the network but people would tell him to move on and he was even labeled “homophobic” because of what he wanted to complain about.

In part 3 of his revelation on his YouTube channel, the singer made more revelations about the musical director who allegedly harassed him. He said that the MD made ways to get back to him when he was already avoiding the advancements. Gerald shared that he was reported for his supposed attitude problem and was indefinitely suspended for an unjustifiable reason.

On Monday, Gerald was invited to attend the Senate hearing. He said that he was not harassed or abused because he said, “na-rape po ako.” When Sen. Jinggoy was asked how he could categorize what was done to him, Gerald said that he is willing to tell everything but he fears that the other camp will retaliate.

For 19 years kineep ko lamang ito dahil sa takot ko nga po, sa kahihiyan. Hiyang-hiya po talaga ako lalo na noon dahil ‘yung grupo na nasa loob ay parang dini-dismiss lang nila ‘yung sinabi ko, na parang mag-move on ka na lang kasi kalakaran ‘yan dito,” the singer emotionally said.

Gerald Santos also asked for help from the Senate in dealing with what happened to him 19 years ago. Here is a clip of the singer’s statement from DWAR Abante Radyo.
