Pokwang guested on It’s Showtime’s segment
Kapuso comedienne Pokwang recalled her heartbreak during her guesting on Expecially For You, It’s Showtime‘s segment in which guests can find a date.
Pokie’s love life is quite an open book. Her breakup with American actor Lee O’Brian was controversial. She filed a deportation case against him and she won. The comedienne also revealed what she had to go through when they were together, including the alleged maltreatment she received from her ex-partner.
After three years since the breakup, Pokie made a step to find a date through a segment in the Kapamilya noontime show. She was accompanied by her eldest daughter Mae.
Pokwang and Lee O’Brian had a daughter named Malia. The comedienne was asked by It’s Showtime host Vice Ganda, based on the article in Inquirer, if what pushed her to join the dating segment.
Pokie jokingly said that her house is currently under renovation and she needed a new chair. In a serious tone, she said that she is a fan of the segment and she wanted a change in her life.
Mae shared that she has been convincing her mom to join the segment because as a daughter, she wants her mom to grow old with someone by her side.
Then, Pokie shared that past she had with her former partner without mentioning Lee’s name. Talking about her heartbreak, the comedienne said, “Pasong-paso ako. Pero sabi ko nga, minsan si God ang gumagawa ng way kung paano mo siya makikilala… Kung may love, may hope; kung may hope, may love.”
When asked if she is open to having a foreigner partner again, the comedienne quipped that he should have proper documents.
Pokie was emotional when Mae mentioned that she was “aloof” from Lee from the very start but she set aside what she felt for her mom’s happiness. On the other hand, now, they were able to restore the bond and closeness that they have before Lee came into their lives.
Pokwang chose searchee Richard, a chef, to be her date.
