1-Year-Old Boy Goes Viral for Drum Cover of BINI’s Hit Song, ‘Salamin, Salamin’
MISAMIS OCCIDENTAL – A one-year-old boy goes viral and amuses netizens for drumming along to BINI’s hit song, “Salamin, Salamin”.
On August 10, 2024, a netizen named Christine Matildo shared the amazing video of her one-year-old son, Asher Caven Matildo drumming along to BINI’s song “Salamin, Salamin”. The post garnered various reactions from the netizens.
Christine Matildo, Asher’s mother from Sapang Dalaga, Misamis Occidental, shared that her son has been fascinated by drumming since he was just four months old. Whenever his dad played the drums, Asher would listen intently, showing a keen interest in the music.
So, when the family recently bought a junior drum set that perfectly fit Asher, they decided to record his first attempt at playing it.
“Noon pa man, tuwing nag-da-drums ang daddy niya, nakikinig na siya ng mabuti. Kaya noong nakabili kami ng junior drum set last week, naisipan naming i-record yung first time niyang humawak ng drum set na fit sa kaniya,” Matildo said.
Christine explained that Asher’s performance was entirely spontaneous. He hadn’t rehearsed the song beforehand, making his drumming even more impressive. Despite his young age, Asher was able to keep tempo with the music, showing a sense of rhythm.

“Actually hindi niya ni-rehearse ang song na ‘yun. Kumbaga, sa time of recording, impromptu lang lahat,” she added.
Many netizens praised his ability to sense rhythm so early on. Some even predicted that he would grow up to be a great drummer, given how naturally he seemed to take to the instrument.
