Meet the girlfriend of EJ Obiena who is currently praised online for being low-key.
EJ OBIENA GIRLFRIEND – The German athlete girlfriend of the well-loved pole vaulter recently shared a post online.
Ernest John (“EJ”) Obiena was born in Tondo and found love and passion in pole vault and has been dominating in this field. Obiena dominated the Asian competition in recent years and is ranked 2 according to the World Athletics Organization.
He has joined 2020 Tokyo Olympics and set six-meter Asian record, a new record. This marked his height in his chosen sports and is considered a formidable contender in global athletics. As mentioned, he is number 2 in men’s pole vaulting globally.
As a young boy, he loved track and field sports as he’s been watching his father train at Rizal Memorial Stadium in Manila for the Southeast Asian Games. His mother, Jeanette, was a hurdler and his sister was also in to pole vaulting. It definitely runs in their family.
But the world’s number 2 pole vaulter is not just about sports. Apart from his love for the pole vault, he also has his other love, his partner Caroline Joyeux. She has been his girlfriend for almost four years now.
As the Paris Olympics 2024 concluded, the German athlete shared some snaps and moments of them in the City Of Love. She shared how she supported the Pinoy pole vaulter, the 4th place in 2024 Olympics.
Obiena was initially feeling bad about his 4th place finish, as per his words, close but not good enough. However, with his hard work and everything he did and with the great jump he did that made him reach the 4th place, Pinoy fans are, nonetheless, still proud of him. Hidilyn Diaz comforted Obiena and expressed how proud she is of his achievement.

In the comments section, Pinoy expressed gratitude to her for being there not only to support the Pinoy athlete but also to make him feel good during his low moments. This was most especially when he got emotional for being so close in getting an Olympic medal but failed.
EJ’s girlfriend is a triple jumper and he first took her to the Philippines in 2022. She has won some athletic events in Germany.
