SANDRO MUHLACH CASE – GMA-7 “independent contractors” Jojo Nones and Richard “Dode” Cruz deny the accusations.
On August 12, accused Jojo Nones and Richard “Dode” Cruz appeared before the senate. This is during the senate hearing for the case of Sandro Muhlach where they were accused as his perpetrators.
They finally attended the hearing with Senate Committee on Public Information and Mass Media after skipping the first one. According to them, they decided to not attend the first one not because they are afraid of the investigation but because they are afraid of the judgment from the public.
They were afraid to be subjected in media circus and premature trial. In their statement, they added that they were also afraid to violate the confidentiality regarding the investigation being done by the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI).
About the Sandro’s complaint versus the GMA independent contractors
In the hearing, they admitted that they are the independent contractors Muhlach has been referring to in his complaint, however, they firmly denied doing any of the things they were accused of.
“Sa pagkakataong ito, sa harap ninyong lahat, mariin pong itinatanggi namin ang lahat ng mapanirang akusasyon na ito laban sa amin.”
They also denied having any influence in the GMA network as they insist that they are just like the other employees. They could get fired anytime and this is contrary to the claims being spread online.
They have a reputation to be kept in a clean slate which they have been doing for decades now which shocked them as to why this is happening to them now. With the length of their stay in the industry, this is the first time that this incident happened to them.
The things they were accused of are accordingly the things they will not do at the cost of their career, more so, to do it with someone from an influential clan in the industry.
“Ano naman po ang laban naming mga ordinaryong manggagawa lamang laban sa kanila?”
They acknowledged their gender identity but it does not mean they can do things such as reflected in the complaint.
“Bakla po kami, oo, pero hindi kami mga abuser. Bakla kami, oo, pero hindi kami gumagawa ng masama sa kapwa. Bakla kami, oo, at may takot po kami sa Diyos.”
