Actress-host Toni Gonzaga is facing backlash online following her statement that seemed to downgrade Angeli Khang’s confession.
“May time ba na you felt na taken advantage ka?”
This was the question of Toni Gonzaga to Vivamax Queen Angeli Khang during their interview in “Toni Talks”. This question ignited the talk about what’s happening behind as the actress shared that she has experienced this several times.
She detailed the instances of such incidents and shared how her partners would cross the line.
“Ako nasa isip ko, basta one take, go mo na. After nun, dun na ko magrereklamo kay direk,” said Khang which prompted Toni to respond that sometimes, some actors really just could not help it. Something as physical as what they do in the movies were intense, hence, the reaction because “lalaki sila”.
Gonzaga said, “Eh kasi syempre lalaki parin sila make-carried away talaga sila sa eksena, diba?”
Many people expressed frustration over the dismissive response of the host. As per one commenter, it could have been a great opportunity to discuss such sensitive issue that is happening in the industry. However, with Toni’s response, the opportunity popped and the conversation was immediately diverted to another subject.
One netizen also expressed her frustration saying how can she agree and sympathize with the actress who just said that she was victimized then water it with a statement saying “lalaki sila” like it would justify something from a confession that was clearly a bit traumatic.
