Marian Rivera talked about her character in this Cinemalaya film
Kapuso Primetime Queen Marian Rivera revealed why she can relate to her character Teacher Emmy in the movie Balota.
The said film is one of the official entries in this year’s Cinemalaya film festival. Previously, Marian shared that this role is something she has not done before. In the movie, she chose not to have a stunt double even though this was challenging for her physically.
Cinemalaya has started showcasing the entries for this year. Last August 4, the gala night for Balota was held, based on the article in GMA Entertainment.
After the film showing, a talkback session was held in which the cast and crew shared their experiences working on this project and their insights about the movie.
Marian Rivera was asked if her Teacher Emmy character has similarities with her personality. The actress shared that it was her dream to become a teacher. “Sabi ko naman kung hindi ako artista-sa mga past interview ko-pangarap ko talagang maging teacher,” she shared.
Marian also said that she and Emmy are both mothers. She shared that she is close to her kids just as her character is. The actress added that she and Emmy possess the same determination.
“Kilala n’yo naman ako in showbiz, sobrang transparent ko. What you see is what you get,” the wife of Kapuso Primetime King Dingdong Dantes said. She added that she would say what she thinks and feel without filter and this is how Teacher Emmy is.
For her, she and her character are also the same when it comes to doing things for their loved ones, for the greater good, and what could be beneficial for other people.
Marian Rivera also said that she and Teacher Emmy are both loving people who think about the welfare of their loved ones first before thinking about themselves. They just want to make sure that everybody is safe.
