Alexandra Uichico-Gutierrez died on Saturday of acute leukemia. She was only 38 leaving her husband Elvis Gutierrez and children behind. It was a short but valiant fight with the cancer of the blood.
Previously, Elvis shared a touching post about his wife as he mourns over her death. On Sunday, her death was announced which broke many hearts. Hearts go to the family of the deceased.
Ruffa Gutierrez announced Alexa’s death. She was a “loving mother, wife, daughter, and friend”. Ruffa expressed, “I love you so much my beautiful, irreplaceable Alexa. You will forever be in my thoughts and in my heart. Until we cross paths again.”
Who is Alexa?
She was a dedicated mother and, at the same time, a successful entrepreneur. Her full name is Alexandra Joelle Uichico-Gutierrez and she is a member of the Uichico clan of Iloilo. Before her career in entrepreneur, she was a model.
Just as stated in her Cancer zodiac sign, she possessed nurturing and visionary traits. Her father is Joel F. Uichico, the president of Bikes for the Philippines Foundation Inc., and the late Mela Vasquez. She has two older brothers namely: Adrien Uichico and Angelo Uichico.
She attended De La Salle Zobel and she earned her bachelor’s degree in Applied Science (BASc) in Fashion Merchandising at the University of Houston. She started as a part-time program assistant at her university’s College of Technology and entered as an intern at New Living + Green Painter.
From 2010 to 2011, she harnessed her skills in the field of design and retail. She was also a full-time retail store manager for Abercrombie & Fitch Co. In 2014, she decided to step out of this and turned to become an account manager at Insular Life.
She then furthered her money market trading skills at the United Coconut Planters Bank (UCPB). In 2018, she leveraged her fashion background and co-founded Shoplaya, a baby clothing line. She led Shoplaya until she passed.
She married Elvis in 2015 after nine years of dating with their wedding held at the Santuario de San Antonio Parish in Makati City. Their first child named Aria Carmela Uichico Gutierrez was born on September 28, 2014, and the second one namely Ezra Uichico Gutierrez, was born on June 12, 2017.
