Freelance actress Mariel Pamintuan, the famous GMA Gala food reviewer, was not invited this year and here’s the reason why.
In 2022, actress Mariel Pamintuan went viral because of her honest food review and thoughts about the GMA Gala 2022 attendees. For the food, she mentioned that it tasted like an expensive liver spread. In another video, she expressed that she doesn’t know who the attendees are which was a tie because they don’t also know who she was.
She went viral for being too honest and her videos which are both truthful and comedic both gained admiration and criticism.
In the GMA Gala 2023, she once again trended for her gala food review. She expressed her straightforward take about the food and shared her thoughts about the previous one she attended where she got widely discussed. Moreover, this time around, she got nicer things about the food and apologized to the previous videos she uploaded.
This year’s gala, many people were looking for her and some kind of expected another food review video from her. However, it did not happen. She was not at the event and in a post, she explained this.
According to her, she was not invited and this is because she is not anymore an artist of the network. Her contract expired and obviously, was not renewed, hence, her absence at the gala.
“Natapos na po ang aking 2 yr. Contract sakanila at ngayon ay isa na po akong freelancer,” she shared.
Despite this, she remained grateful for the network for the opportunities she was given that harnessed her skills as an actress. Those opportunities also helped them financially and these reasons alone left her heart swelling with joy and gratitude.
