KOBE BRYANT’S FATHER – Former National Basketball Association (NBA) player Joe “Jellybean” Bryant died at the age of 69.

One of the most well-known basketball stars across the globe is the late Kobe Bryant. He is also one of the cagers who have basketball players fathers. He is the son of former NBA player Joseph “Joe” Washington Bryant or also known as Jellybean Bryant.

Joe Bryant played at the Philadelphia school from 1973 until 1975. After it, he played for NBA’s Philadelphia 76ers, San Diego Clippers, and Houston Rockets. He also played for Europe from 1983 to 1992. For three years from 1993, he was the coach of the Explorers.

Recently, a sad update about Kobe Bryant’s father crossed the surface. The La Salle University announced that Joe Bryant died at the age of 69.

Joe Bryant played as a forward in Italy from 1983 until 1991. In his entire National Basketball Association career, the father of the late Black Mamba averaged 8.7 points, 0.4 rebounds, and 1.7 assists in a game.

Kobe Bryant’s father had several coaching stints including three seasons of the Women’s NBA Los Angeles Sparks as well as coaching years on clubs in different places across the globe.

Joe was playing for the 76ers when his wife, Pamela Cox, gave birth to their son Kobe Bryant. She was the sister of former NBA player Chubby Cox. Aside from Kobe, Joe and Pam have two (2) daughters, Sharia and Shaya. Kobe was the youngest.

Kobe was a five-time NBA champion. He played a shooting guard in his entire 20-year career with the Los Angeles Lakers. One of the greatest basketball players in the history, the Black Mamba was an 18-time All-Star and a two-time NBA Finals MVP.

However, on January 26, 2020, the world was left in grief with the sudden death of Kobe Bryant and his daughter, Gianna. The chopper that they were aboard in figured into a crash amid light rain and fog on its way to Camarillo Airport. They were off for a basketball game at the Mamba Sports Academy then.
