DepEd Spokesman Learns A Lot from Working with Vice Pres. Sara Duterte

DEPED SPOKESMAN – Education Undersecretary Michael Poa who tendered his resignation spoke on working with Vice President Sara Duterte.

The resignation of Vice President Sara Duterte from being the DepEd Secretary stirred a lot of questions from countless Filipinos. The Vice President did not only leave her post as the secretary of the Department of Education but as well as the vice chairperson of the National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC).

Vice Pres. Duterte did not disclose the direct reason behind her decision to resign from being the DepEd secretary. According to the Vice President, her decision stems from her compassion to the teachers and students.

Recently, five (5) high-ranking officials of DepEd also tendered their resignation. The decision came ahead of Senator Sonny Angara assuming the post as the new DepEd secretary.

The five high-ranking officials of the Department of Education who resign from their post have submitted their resignation to Pres. Bongbong Marcos. Here are the officials who resign from their posts in DepEd:

  • Undersecretary Michael Poa
  • Undersecretary for Administration Nolasco Mempin
  • Assistant Secretary Sunshine Fajarda
  • Assistant Secretary for Procurement Reynold Munsayac
  • Assistant Secretary for Administration Noel Baluyan

Recently, DepEd spokesman and undersecretary Michael Poa spoke on working with Vice Pres. Sara Duterte. Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, the education Undersecretary considers it a “privilege” to have worked with the Vice President.

According to Poa, he learned a lot from working in the Department of Education. He believes that it has expanded his horizon. He stressed that he went through a lot in DepEd and he learned a lot from working with Vice Pres. Sara Duterte.

The DepEd spokesman admitted that he was on a “culture shock” when he started working in the education department. He came from the Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) and stressed that the environment is different among the government-owned and controlled corporation and the private sector.

Poa said that he was surprised about the dedication of the teachers and even the non-teaching personnel. Based on the article, his resignation and as well as the resignations of the other high-ranking officials of the education department will be effective on July 19, 2024.
