However, the police noticed them and gave chase, which led them to the intersection of Dagat-dagatan Avenue. Despite the red light, the motorcycle continued straight. At the same time, a truck was coming from the opposite direction with a green light.

Unfortunately, the truck couldn’t stop in time and collided with the motorcycle. The female victim was identified as the niece of barangay official Rocky Badiana. “Kamag-anak ko pala yung babae dahil hindi ko siya mamukhaan. Nagulat ako, pamangkin ko pala,” Badiana said.

The truck driver is currently detained at the police station as the investigation into the incident continues. Meanwhile, the friend who was injured is receiving medical treatment.

The incident shows the importance of following traffic rules and wearing helmets while riding motorcycles. Avoiding police checkpoints and ignoring traffic signals can have severe consequences.

The online community mourns the loss of the couple and hopes for the quick recovery of their injured friend. Authorities are urging all motorists to prioritize safety to prevent such tragedies in the future.
