Carla Abellana was asked about her ex-husband Tom Rodriguez
Kapuso actress Carla Abellana admitted that she is not yet ready to work with her ex-husband actor Tom Rodriguez.
The Philippine court has acknowledged Carla and Tom’s divorce. Their breakup was quite controversial and they became a trending topic on social media because of this. They are now officially separated and it was reported that Tom has a new girlfriend.
On the other hand, the actress is not yet open to having a new love life. She is currently busy with her new murder mystery series Widow’s War with Bea Alonzo.
In a recent interview, Carla Abellana was asked about Tom Rodriguez and the possibility of meeting her ex-husband since they are in the same network, based on the article in Inquirer.
The actress said that there is no problem with this. She is ready emotionally and mentally if ever she meets Tom. For her, there is nothing to prepare for this situation if it happens. Carla also said that she would be civil enough if she would meet her ex-husband. She said a polite nod would be enough.
For Carla, there is no need for her to converse with her ex-husband if they would meet. “I don’t see the need to greet him, do small talk or have a conversation with him. I’m not going to avoid or hide from him but I’m also not going to act as if we’re friends again,” she said.
On the other hand, the actress said that when it comes to having a project together, this would be not possible anytime soon.
“’Yun ang hindi pa talaga… I don’t think I will be ready to work with him anytime soon,” the Kapuso actress said. She also said that she respects Tom’s space, work, and life, and she also has her own. “It’s hard enough focusing on my own life and career,” she said.
Meanwhile, Carla Abellana shared in a previous statement her thoughts on legalizing divorce in the Philippines. She said that she has mixed emotions toward this issue. As a Roman Catholic, she is hesitant but many people have been advocating divorce to be legal in the country.
