Update on the Case of Missing Beauty Queen in Pampanga
MISSING BEAUTY QUEEN – The Philippine National Police tagged seven (7) persons of interest including the “middleman” in the disappearance of Mutya ng Pilipinas Pampanga Geneva Lopez and her fiance.
Recently, headlines about the missing Mutya ng Pilipinas Pampanga candidate crossed the surface and left a lot of people curious on the case. Geneva Lopez, the representative of Sto. Tomas in the beauty pageant, disappeared with her foreigner fiance.
Geneva Lopez and her Israeli fiance, Yitshak Cohen, were missing since June 21, 2024. Mutya ng Pilipinas Pampanga previously released a statement clarifying that there was no event in line with the pageant on the said day that the couple disappeared.
According to the pageant body, June 21 was intended to be a rest day for the candidates. Since then, there was no update to the whereabouts of the couple.
The family of Yitshak Cohen raised a reward of Php 250,000 for any information that could lead to where the missing couple is now. The reward for the missing Mutya ng Pilipinas candidate and her boyfriend was raised to Php 350,000 now after Angeles City Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr. offered a Php 100,000 reward for information about the couple’s whereabouts.
A day after the couple went missing, a burnt car was found in Capas, Tarlac. The last information about the couple was that they were off to Capas, Tarlac for a land transaction.
The family checked the burnt vehicle and belongings of the missing Mutya ng Pilipinas Pampanga candidate were found inside the burnt car. Until now, there are no information as to where the couple is.
Amid the ongoing search for the missing beauty queen and her boyfriend, the Philippine National Police tagged seven (7) persons of interest in the disappearance of Geneva Lopez and Yitshak Cohen. Based on an report on ABS-CBN News, one of the persons of interest is the “middleman” whom the victims met.
According to Police Colonel Jean Fajardo, the middleman admitted that he was with Geneva and her fiance before the couple went missing. The police authorities will validate the statement of the middleman.
“Definitely, the information he provided to the police will undergo validation and vetting to confirm the truthfulness of his statements,” Fajardo said.
Now, based on the article, the reward money for any information that could lead to the whereabouts of the couple has reached Php 1.5 million. Ocular inspections, backtracking, fingerprints from the abandoned vehicle, and testimonies from witnesses paved the way for the identification of the persons of interest.
